The Renzo Gracie Invitational was a huge success with over 650 participants. I took first place in the Middleweight Division and third place in the Absolute. Thanks to everyone for the help with training and to TapouT and Tokyo 5.

ROLLES GRACIE signs Multi fight contract with the UFC.

For the first time since Royce Gracie stepped into the UFC Octagon in May 2006, another Gracie will make their way to the top MMA promotion as Rolles Gracie has signed a multi-fight deal with the organization and will make his debut at UFC 109 in February against British heavyweight, Mustapha Al-Turk.

Rolles Gracie makes his way to the UFC by way of a 3-0 professional career with his last two wins coming in the Art of War promotion in China. A black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Gracie trains at both Renzo Gracie’s Academy in New York City as well as Greg Jackson’s school in New Mexico.

Rolles Gracie was born into the world’s first family of fighting on July 14, 1978 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is the grandson of Carlos Gracie Sr, the founder of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and son of Rolls Gracie, who is widely considered to be the Gracie family’s most legendary Jiu-Jitsu practitioner. Rolles is physically the largest in the history of the Gracie clan, standing at 6’ 4” and weighing 250 pounds. He is a second degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a multi-title holding champion, not only BJJ, but also in Judo and submission wrestling.

Rolles moved to New York City in 2004 to teach and train again with Renzo Gracie, at the Renzo Gracie Academy. Rolles is the Head Instructor at the Renzo Gracie Academy in Holmdel, New Jersey. He teaches private seminars all over the world with clients such as the New York Jets, NYPD, Fort Meyers Police Academy and the United States Navy Seals.

It's one of those things in MMA, you can't fight with a serious knee injury. Rolles Gracie was forced to withdraw due to his injury. After he recuperates, look for Rolles in another upcoming fight.

Rolles Gracie will face Ricardo Romero in the upcoming Ring of Combat event on April 17th at the Tropicana in Atlantic City. Rolles is training everyday and is looking forward to facing this tough opponent. Tickets are available at Renzo Gracie Academy.
